Chianti Classico & Fiorentina Steak

Greve in Chianti is the main town in the Chianti Classico region, mainly known for the tasty red wines famous worldwide. Greve is, however, also the birth town of Giovanni da Verrazzano, who in the 14th century discovered the bay of New York. With its busy 19th century market square, the delightful piazza, the landscape surrounding the village you will remain impressed by the variety of resources offered by this small gem of Chiantishire.

Panzano in Chianti is the ideal spot where to breath that sense of peacefulness and calm that is typical in Tuscan countryside, where rolling hills surround medieval towns and the time seems to have stopped. Once you enter the village, you encounter the other two pearls of this territory: wine and food, which contributes to make Panzano and the rest of the area famous worldwide.

The beauty of this castle comes together with the powerful history linked to Giovanni da Verrazzano, one of those who most contributed to the discovery of America, together with Amerigo Vespucci and Cristoforo Colombo. Explore the castle and history while entering the cellars and tasting the local wine.

In the towns of Greve in Chianti and Panzano in Chianti, get to know and taste the Tuscan food and wine famous all over the world.

After breakfast at your hotel, meet your private English-speaking guide at 9 am in the hotel lobby and set off for the Chianti area (2-hour drive). The first stop will be Greve in Chianti with time to stroll around the city at your leisure. Later on, you will continue to Panzano (10-min drive), where you will have the opportunity to explore the town followed by a delicious lunch (3-course meal, drinks included) at the famous “Cecchini” butcher’s shop.

After lunch, carry on to Verrazzano Castle (20-min drive). At 3pm, meet the guide who will take you round the wine cellars with the opportunity to taste some of their wines. At the end of the guided tour of the castle, return to the hotel in the early evening.
