Are you ready for Columbus Day? We definitely are!
The journey starts at The Sense Experience Resort, in Maremma, where a luxury suite is waiting for you right in front of the sea. If this location is joyful and exciting during the summer, in autumn it is quiet and definitely magical.
DAY 1 – Walk in cities
After the breakfast at Dimora’, get ready for visiting Pisa. Explore Piazza dei Miracoli and climb the Pisa tower. Then go for a walk among the beautiful medieval streets and along Arno river, feeling the quietness of wondering in a such small old town. Do not forget to reach Knights Square (Piazza dei Cavalieri), Guelph Tower, Keith Haring Mural and the Church of Santa Maria della Spina.
For sunset, move to Lucca to take a walk on the historic city walls and then have dinner in Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, an amazing square full of restaurants that was once a Roman Amphitheatre.
DAY 2 – Hill & Air
For your second day, let’s see the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Visit Chianti, Bolgheri (do not forget to take a picture walking along the famous Viale dei Cipressi) and Montalcino. During the afternoon, go to Petra winery, designed by Architect Botta, to see its wine cellars and do wine tasting. You know, it is not a holiday in Tuscany without the right glass of wine.
At sunset, what do you think about staring at the Tuscan hills from a differ point of you? If it sounds like a great idea, enjoy a ride on an hot air balloon. Then go back for dinner at Eate’, the gourmet restaurant of The Sense Resort.
DAY 3 – Shopping in center
Excited for your third day? You should be… Florence is your next destination. Everyone wants to do shopping, see the Duomo and gaze at the statue of David before heading to the Uffizi galleries, the famous Ponte Vecchio bridge, Boboli Garden and Piazzale Michelangelo. Spend the entire day admiring this amazing city and, instead of a normal meal, try an all day long ice cream tour, tasting the best gelato of your life.
DAY 4 – Hot springs
Today we need to relax so get the car and go for a ride along Val d’Orcia countryside. Hug the cypresses, visit Pienza and see the hills that with their up and down look like green ocean waves. Then, take a rest at Vignoni baths, the enchanting and charming hot springs in Val d’Orcia. Go back for dinner at The Sense for a cocktail at sunset and an exquisite meal at Dimorà.
DAY 5 – Truffle taste
For today, let’s try something else very typical of the Tuscan cuisine: truffles. Get ready for San Miniato, a beautiful small village in the countryside. Here you can eat typical truffles recipes and even participate to a truffle hunting, a funny and unforgettable adventure.
DAY 6 – Esclusive esperience
For your last day, visit the amazing village of Pitigliano. Carved from volcanic stone, the town of Pitigliano is not far from the thermal mineral waters of Bagno San Filippo. Enjoy its streets and its flavours then go back to The Sense for a quiet afternoon, maybe for a walk on the beach or in our park.
